On My Bike in 2011
1. 200km cycled per week
2. 10,000km cycled this year
3. 6 Audax 200km rides
4. 2 Audax 300km rides
5. 4 community rides and $1,000.00 raised for charities
In 2011 I cycled 8526 KM through 116,357 metres of climbing on a 187 rides. I did two Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) stages; Stage 4 of the Tour Down Under (TDU) in Adelaide, South Australia and Stage 1 of the Tour de France (TDF) in the Vendée Department. Both these rides were great personal accomplishments.
The highlight of the TDU was the Checker Hill climb which was a gruelling section of road. The TDF highlight was crossing the Passage du Guis at the beginning and just completing the ride along the Atlantic coast and through the French countryside.
So as the year closed I can see that I’ve averaged 164 km per week and raised over $1,000.00 for various charities. I only did 2 Audax 200km rides and no 300km rides. However the years riding can’t be reduced to those stats because I feel like I’ve accomplished lots more.
